Privacy notice

What we collect

• Order details: your first and last name, email address, phone number, country and the guides you bought.
• Payment status: the provider reference, amount, method (M-PESA, Airtel or card) and whether the payment succeeded. We never see or store your card number or your M-PESA PIN.
• Messages: anything you send us by email, including attachments you choose to send.
• Technical: a hashed version of your IP address on downloads, used only to detect abuse, and the theme preference stored in your browser.

Why we collect it

To confirm payment, deliver your download, keep the order record for accounting, respond to support requests, prevent fraud and misuse of download links, and meet tax obligations.

Who processes it

• Paystack handles the payment and confirms it to us.
• Resend delivers order email from our verified sender domain.
• Our database and file storage run on our hosting provider, with access limited to the publisher.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Support emails are kept while they are needed to resolve the issue. You can ask us to delete data we do not have to keep by law.

Cookies and analytics

The site stores your theme choice and an admin session cookie only. There is no advertising tracker. If we add cookieless analytics later, this notice will say so.

Your rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 you can ask for a copy of your data, correction of anything wrong, deletion where we are not required to keep it, and you can object to processing. Email books@selfemploymentkenya.co.ke and we will respond within the period the Act allows.

Children

The guides are written for adults starting or running a business and are not sold to children.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date of the change appears on this page. Material changes will be announced on the site.
